Terminal America: Third World Kleptocracy?

Barack Obama & General Electric's CEO Jeff Immelt, named to the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness: Which one pulls the strings?
From Friday’s New York Times:
“General Electric, the nation’s largest corporation, had a very good year in 2010.
The company reported worldwide profits of $14.2 billion, and said $5.1 billion of the total came from its operations in the United States.
Its American tax bill? None. In fact, G.E. claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion.
That may be hard to fathom for the millions of American business owners and households now preparing their own returns…”
Hard to fathom? Well, not really. We fathom it pretty well, don’t we? Just look at the shit-eating grin on our president’s face–what do you see there? Dollar signs? The promise of a big payoff in the days to come? Ka-ching!!! Ah, the joys of being the first-black-president-Nobel-Peace-Prize-Laureate, now with at least three wars going, several more cooking, and GE, one of the United States’ top ten military contractors, firmly ensconced in the Administration. And we thought the Bush administration was corrupt… In the immortal words of Sarah Palin, “How’s that hopey, changey thing working for ya?”
